Not many people realize what a tragedy is. So here you go: A tragedy is a story, true, or fabricated, with a 'sad' ending. Not necessarily unsatisfying, but ALWAYS sad. More specificall it is a story in which the main character(s) downfall is ultimately caused by an excess of a quality that they possess.
Take honesty, for example. If we were to be totally honest at all times, completely unwaveringly truthful, we would be completely outcast from the ranks of society. How is this possible? Isn't honesty a virtue'?
We would be considered wth labels such as (but not limited to)
"Rude," "insensitive," "socially-retarded", "intolerant."
Truth is the only concrete reality, and people do NOT like it. So from all this, we can draw ourselves to the conclusion that any human attributes: toughness, leadership, creditability.. ANY human attribute you can think of, even the good, once in excess will ultimately go wrong or bad in the end. They will destroy and hurt those in possession and those around them.
This is why hypocrisy and lies must be kept in order.
